From New York City the city that never sleeps comes forth a new talented recording artist named Velocity. Born as Anthony Fauntleroy on June 13th 1982 he was destined to make his mark as a lyricist in the music industry. Coming from a musical as well as literature background it was no surprise that creating his own music became his passion and a way to share his life experiences. His mother Deborah Hayes was a professional and very intelligent academic school teacher who graduated from New Paltz University with a Masters Degree in education instilling in him the importance of receiving excellent grades/keen writing skills while maintaining a perfect A+ average throughout his entire scholastic career always striving to achieve the best. His father Gordon Fauntleroy was a freelance soul and R B singer. His parents were the foundation of this young mature artist. Velocity found his niche for writing at the age of nine in fourth grade at elementary school. It was a poetry assignment that started it all. He did so well that his professor took notice of his unique writing skills/usage of vocabulary and wanted him to enter a poetry writing contest. From then on he enjoyed writing expressing himself through his words and writing down his thoughts. Velocity also took on musical instruments. Though at this time he was recognized for his voice he decided not to take to stage vocally instead he chose to play in a band and play the clarinet. In the summer he also attended the USDAN center for music and performing arts. He stood with playing the musical instrument until high school which lead him to play classical music with Boro - Wide Band. This concert band he auditioned for and participated in enabled him to perform in places like Carnegie Hall. He was also privileged to play with the New York Pops Orchestra. Velocity’s gifts turned to rap in high school at the age of fourteen. Having inspirations like Biggie Big Pun Big L 2pac Nas Run DMC Cam'ron Wu-tang clan Jay- Z A Tribe Called Quest Busta Rhymes Dr. Dre The Lox DMX Mobb Deep to name a few he was moved to take his talents into this art form. Hip Hop is an art that many individuals from the hood used to express themselves. At this time he linked up with his partner producer artist and friend Micheal Timmons known in the industry as Pryme. The two expressed their love for music and shared their goals and visions and realized that they should unite to form the company they have established today. Velocity spent days to think of a name that would describe the foundation of himself as well as his company and came up with P.F.A (Prepared for Anything).
